01 · Who I am

01

02/09

Senior Product Designer and UX Engineer, based in Bogotá.

I'm Andrés Meneses, a Senior Product Designer and UX Engineer based in Bogotá, working remotely worldwide.

For more than 11 years, I've turned complex services, information and operational workflows into clear, useful digital products across Colombia, Australia and international teams.

I began in visual and interface design and grew into product leadership — leading multidisciplinary teams of designers, developers and researchers, and owning products from research and definition through UX/UI, data visualization and production front-end code. That progression is why I can hold both the strategic argument and the shipped detail.

02 · My multidisciplinary practice

02

03/09

One practice across analysis, design and technology.

I work across the complete product lifecycle — analysis, definition, design, build and delivery — so decisions stay coherent from the first workshop to production release.

  • 01Analyze — user research, operational discovery, requirements, data and workflow analysis
  • 02Define — product strategy, opportunity framing, information architecture and success measures
  • 03Design — UX/UI, interaction design, visual systems, data visualization and prototypes
  • 04Build — production interfaces with React, TypeScript and React Native, supported by APIs, Supabase and mapping technologies
  • 05Deliver — team leadership, implementation support, launch, measurement and iteration

03 · How I arrived here

03

04/09

From visual communication to software products.

My career began in graphic design and communications, where I learned to make complex information understandable. It developed through UI design, data visualization, design management and product leadership, and later expanded into hands-on software development.

That progression lets me move comfortably between user needs, business objectives, visual systems, data and technical constraints.

04 · Leadership and ownership

04

05/09

Hands-on enough to build. Senior enough to lead.

As Head of Innovation & Technology at Opposite, I managed three designers and three developers while leading work for organizations including Metro Trains Melbourne, WorkSafe Victoria and Goldwind.

I have also founded and managed products such as BEOND and Bigilante, translated operational conversations into product requirements, and taught an AI software-development course. I'm comfortable establishing direction, doing the detailed work and helping multidisciplinary teams deliver.

05 · Selected proof

05

06/09

Product work with measurable operational impact.

The numbers behind the practice — pulled from the case studies on this page.

  • 01EstarMed — monthly completed visits from 414 to 987 and complete field records from 27% to 97%, with no additional coordination staff
  • 02BEOND — 10 live events for 5 paying organizers, with ~10,000 people using at least one capability
  • 03Enterprise — products and operational systems for safety-critical transport, workplace safety, energy and internal communications

06 · Foundation

06

07/09

Design foundation. Product thinking. Engineering execution.

Formal training that supports the full practice, and international experience across time zones.

  • 01Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design
  • 02Postgraduate studies in Design Management
  • 03Master of Information Technology — Software Development, Swinburne University
  • 04English and Spanish · experience across Colombia and Australia
  • 05Available to work with international teams and time zones

07 · Recognition

07

08/09

A design foundation built on 99designs' top-tier infographic work.

Earlier in my career, I was recognized among 99designs' Top 10 infographic designers. I completed 279 one-to-one projects, won 30 design contests, and worked with 29 repeat clients. That foundation in visual communication and information design continues to shape how I approach complex digital products.

  • 01Top 10 infographic designers — 99designs
  • 02279 one-to-one client projects
  • 0330 design contests won · 29 repeat clients

08 · What I'm looking for

08

09/09

Senior or Lead Product Designer, UX Engineer, Design Engineer or Founding Product Designer.

I'm looking for a full-time remote opportunity as a Senior or Lead Product Designer, UX Engineer, Design Engineer or Founding Product Designer.

I do my best work on complex, data-rich or operational products — especially when a team needs someone who can connect what users need, what the business needs and what engineering can realistically ship.
